2011 Robert's Block Riesling - Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery

2011 Robert's Block Riesling RE-RELEASE

Featured in two national wine clubs (My Wine Canada and Carl's Wine Club) in July 2024!

The 2011 Robert’s Block Riesling is back for a limited time only!

Sue-Ann vinified the 2011 Robert's Block Riesling from 100% estate fruit grown on thin clay soils with escarpment limestone beneath. 2011 was a cool year so yields were low, with tiny berries at 18.2 Brix, and10.5 g/L total acidity. The wine was cool fermented in stainless over 3 weeks with selected yeast to maximize aromatics and influence of terroir and left on gross lees for 5 months with very little agitation.

This is a classic Ontario Riesling, lively with minerality, steel and wet stone.  Granny Smith apple, new cut hay and petrol notes add intrigue to the aroma.  On the palate, traditional steely notes contrast with gentle chamomile and quince flavors.  The residual sugar is balanced with vibrant acidity.  Enjoy with seafood, fish, appetizers, poultry, and salads or simply on its own.
