2021 Bank Barn Baco Noir - Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery

2021 Bank Barn Baco Noir

Appearance: Deep purple in colour. Nose: Intense, floral, blackberry nose with an ink note. Palate: Medium-bodied, dry, juicy, herbal, blackberry flavour carried on lively acidity. Quality: Outstanding. 90 points. Drink now or through 2025. Tony Aspler, O.C.

Vinification: Harvested from the Estate Vineyard in Late September, destemmed and left in tank to ferment on the skins to provide optimal colour extraction. After fermentation the wine did not see any oak or additives before being filtered and sweetened slightly and bottled

Tasting notes: Classic Baco Noir aromas of black cherry, saddle leather and raspberry cordial. On the palate, the wine’s refreshing acidity (with an earthy backbone adding weight and complexity) compliments the ebullient notes of black currant, cherry, and plum, creating a well-balanced, casual, light-bodied red.

Serving suggestions: Serve with casual, flavourful, punchy fare like smoked cheeses; seared duck or other game meat, especially with fruit condiments; prosciutto, salami, and other cured meats; country ham; rustic Italian dishes. An outstanding grilling wine for autumn 2024! Try it with Sue-Ann's Smashburgers
